Few enigma's exist within the Empire that have not been revealed or infiltrated by Imperial Intelligence. The Cult of the Shadow Temple is one such enigma. Indeed, few outside of the vigil even know of its existence, and even fewer still of its agenda or goals. What follows is all that our agents have managed to obtain from their attempts at infiltration...
The Cult was originally formed many years ago by house Draig and it's allies in the other imperial noble houses, but was believed to have been eradicated when house Draig was destroyed and its remaining peoples reduced to slavery. Once more though, whispers amongst Imperial High Command speak in fear that the cult has risen from obscurity and continues to secretly follow its agenda with renewed fervor.
Outwardly, the Shadow Templar are known to teach a path to power tempered by wisdom. They scour the galaxy in search of knowledge, and teach their discoveries of the galaxy to those who would listen. Behind closed doors though, the leaders of the Jen'Dvenjiin discuss and carefully calculate their moves. Fanatically loyal to the ideals of the Vigil, the Shadow Templar are even more fanatically loyal to the philosophy of the Sith Code. The primary tenet of the Jen'Dvenjiin is that Freedom and Security is the direct teleological end of a victory achieved through power. They believe then that in order to continue to have freedom and security one must attain and maintain power. To this end, the cult seeks to achieve victory in politics, economics, the achievement of societal paradigms, and in militaristic endeavors. It is especially rumored that some of the more advanced weapons, cybernetics, and stims seen on the black market today are in fact projects owned and funded by the cult itself. This theory has lead imperial intelligence to suspect that the cult may have massive funds of credits with which to achieve its ends.
The cult of the shadow temple operates in galactic affairs primarily through the use of diplomacy, subversion, manipulation, and assassination; all the while they continue to train their deadly warriors for the day when they can return to the galaxy and seek vengeance against their foes. The adherents to this path range from devout zealots to ambitious narcissists, imperial soldiers and mercenary captains to Sith Lords; and none should be underestimated. Indeed, some would argue that the Jen'Dvenjiin are playing a long game for power, but little can be done until they declare their intentions or strike out at their enemies. Imperial High Command recommends utilization of Cipher agents to to engage in subversion to eradicate or neutralize this threat.
